Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Minister of State in PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh today inaugurated prestigious Comprehensive Mansar Rejuvenation/ Development Plan in Jammu through virtual mode. <br />''<br />''AIR Jammu Correspondent reports that the prestigious project worth 198.37 crore rupees aims at increasing tourists' influx. It will facilitate the socio-economic development and will open more avenues for holistic development of the areas and will generate more employment opportunities for locals. <br />''<br />''Mansar is the most sought out tourist destination visited by the tourists in Jammu & the implementation of its Rejuvenation/ Development Plan will certainly bring Mansar on the world tourism map. Speaking to the media persons, the LG said that J&K has high potential to become a preferred tourist destination and can support a much higher employment workforce.<br />''<br />'' He said, Government is working on a strategic plan for growth & development of tourism sector in J&K.He further said that the tourism contributes about 7 per cent of the GDP of J&K and revival of Tourism Sector is top most priority of the UT government. He maintained that new policies will help in value creation & profitability for the local businesses. <br />''<br />''Pertinently, pilgrimage circuit covering Shivkhori -Uttarbani -Purmandal -Sukrala Mata is also being developed with UT & Central government. The LG added that under SWADESH DARSHAN, 4 Circuits covering 33 locations are being developed in Jammu division with the cumulative cost of 201.96 crore rupees. <br />'' <br />''Speaking on the occasion, Dr Singh said that today is the historic day for the people of Mansar Region, as the Mansar Lake Development Plan is getting fulfilled after a long wait of 70 years. He said that after its implementation, the number of Tourists will increase from current 10 lakhs to 20 lakhs per year in Mansar region. <br />''<br />''The Minister said that Mansar Rejuvenation Plan will lead to employment generation of about 1.15 crore man-days and will generate more than 800 crore rupees of income per year. He said, a number of national projects were initiated in the region during the last 6 years.
