LG has no powers to interfere or act independently, says Madurai Bench of Madras HC

<span style="color: #222222;">In a major setback for Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Dr. Kiran Bedi, the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court has said that the Lieutenant Governor has no powers to interfere or act independently.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Allowing a request by Congress legislator K Lakshminarayanan, the Court ruled that the elected government has powers over service matters and cancelled two clarification orders by the centre in 2017 on the powers of the Lieutenant Governor.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Madurai bench of Madras High Court has said that the Lt.Governor Kiran Bedi does not have the power to interfere in the day-to-day activities of the union territory.</span><br />
