In Uttar Pradesh, the level of Ghaghra and Sharda rivers continue to rise due to discharge of water from barrages and inflow of rain water from Nepal. The river Ghaghra is flowing above the danger mark at Elgin Bridge in Barabanki and in Ayodhya while the river Sharda is flowing above the red mark in Lakhimpur Kheri. AIR Gorakhpur correspondent reports that the affected population has been shifted to safer places.
