India’s first ‘Level D’ helicopter simulator training facility will start functioning in mid 2010.<br/><br/>The 240 crore rupee helicopter training centre coming up in Bangalore is a Joint Venture company constituted by Public Sector Undertaking Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, HAL and Canadian Aviation Electronics Ltd, CAE.<br/><br/>The HAL sources confirmed that CAE-built full-mission helicopter simulator is currently en route to India from Montreal in Canada and arrive in Bangalore later this month to begin installation at the new HATSOFF helicopter training centre. <br/><br/>The first cockpit for the simulator represents the Bell 412 helicopter, and is scheduled to be ready-for-training this summer. <br/><br/>The training centre will feature multimedia classrooms, computer-based training, brief/debrief facilities and a training management information system. <br/><br/>HATSOFF will be able to train up to 400 helicopter pilots each year and expects to generate annual revenues of up to approximately Rs. 80 crore.
