In Jammu & Kashmir, one Lashkar e Toiba (LeT) militant was apprehended yesterday by a joint team of Army and Police in a joint operation near Channakhan Sopore, in district Baramulla, around 45 Kms in north of Srinagar headquarters. Army spokesman in Srinagar told AIR that based on specific intelligence input, Rashtriya Rifles Unit and State Police established a joint Vehicle Check Post in the early hours yesterday. He said during the operation, the joint team successfully apprehended an LeT militant along with a Chinese Pistol and three live rounds. The apprehended militant has been identified as Ubaid Tariq Untoo alias Faris of Kralteng, Sopore. <br/><br/>Army spokesman added that the arrested militant was the main accused in Sopore- Blast case which took place in a Police vehicle near Time Pass Restaurant on June 20, in which one under trial militant namely Waheed Noor Khan of PoK was killed and one constable of Sopore Police died besides injuries to four police persons. An FIR has been registered and the apprehended militant has been handed over to the local Police Station, Sopore for further investigations.
