In London, Ace Indian tennis duo Leander Paes and Adil Shamasdin made a commendable comeback to enter the quarter finals of the Aegon ATP Challenger in the men's doubles category last night. Besides, Indian pair of Purav Raja and Divij Sharan cruised into the last eight in London last night. After a gritty duel, Paes and his Canadian pair defeated Australian pair of Matt Reid and John-Patrick Smith 4-6 6-3 12-10 in the Euro 127,000 grass court event. They will now play against Belarus' Andrei Vasilevski and Chile's Hans Podlipnik-Castillo for a semi final berth. In an other match Indian men's doubles duo Raja and Sharan cruised past the pair of Victor Estrella Burgos of Dominican Republic and Darian King of Barbados 6-2 6-4 in the first round. They are slated to face the Thai twins Sanchai and Sonchat Ratiwatana next. At the ATP500 Aegon Championships Rohan Bopanna and Ivan Dodig outclassed Kyle Edmund and Thanasi Kokkinakis 6-3 6-7(5) 10-7 in the first round. They are up against top seeded Henri Kontinen and John Peers next.
