Leh-Sringar National Highway closed due to Snowfall

Snowfall has forced the authorities to close the traffic on the Leh-Sringar National Highway which connects the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of the country. <br/><br/>AIR Leh correspondent reports that it is the first snowfall of this season after long spell of dry season. Divisional Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan has ordered closure of the traffic on the Leh-Sringar National High way via Sonamarg-Gumri road from today till further notice. With this the connectivity during the road closure period, will solely depend on air services. <br/><br/>Quoting official sources, AIR correspondent reports, due to snowfall at Drass, Zanaskar, Panikhar, Sangku, Randum, Manimarg and Kargil town of Kargil district , the Kargil- Padum National high way also closed for traffic from today. Meanwhile , the minimum temperature in Leh town was recorded Minus 7.1degree Celsius this morning.
