<span style="color: #222222;">In Ladakh, Leh Hill Council has made necessary arrangements to transport the vegetables and essential commodities to Leh in the long winter months. The Ladakh region gets closed for road transport due to heavy snowfall at Zojila from Srinagar and Rohtang from Manali on the National Highway, during the winters. <br />''<br />''During the winters, the Ladakh region depends on the air supplies to meet the demands for vegetables and the essential commodities.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Till now, the Hill Council depended on cargo services by the airliners for commodities transportation. However, the Hill Council has tied up with the Army to carry about 40 tonnes of cargo twice a week for civilian requirements beginning next week.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Executive Councilor of Leh Hill Council Phunchok Stanzin said, the Ladakh Union Territory Administration has allocated nearly 10 crore rupees to meet the transportation charges of essential commodities. Private airlines are charging 100 rupees per kilogram and the same is borne by the consumer in Leh-Ladakh. He said, the Army transportation from Chandigarh, is to cost only half in comparison with private airliners.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Mr Stanzin condemned the rumours of a shortage of essential commodities in Leh-Ladakh. He also said the Super Bazaar run by the Hill council has enough stocks of all essential commodities.</span><br />
