Leh district achieves COVID-19 recovery rate of 96 per cent

Union Territory Ladakh is on the road to recovery from Covid19 pandemic. While country's COVID-19 recovery rate reached 95.99 per cent, Ladakh has achieved just above the country's average with 96 percent. AIR correspondent reports, with single mantra of testing, testing and testing and with proper medical care Union Territory Ladakh has achieved a recovery rate of 96 percent. From 9436 confirmed positive cases, Ladakh has treated 9099 persons.<br />'' <br />''While Leh district achieved a recovery rate of 96 percent from total cases 7341,whereas Kargil district is ahead of Leh by curing 97 percent of cases from the total of 2095. Since March of this year UT Ladakh has collected One lakh Three thousand 144 samples.<br />'' <br />'' Initially Ladakh was dependent on NCDC, New Delhi and PGIMER in Chandigarh for testing. However, after establishing testing facilities within Ladakh in both Leh and Kargil Districts, the administration has adopted aggressive testing to contain the spread of virus.<br />'' <br />''In the meantime, Leh administration gearing up to tackle the mutant strain of coronavirus found in the United Kingdom. Already the medical departments of Leh and Kargil are testing the passengers arriving in by Air or by Road, to Ladakh region, before sending them for a Seven day compulsory home quarantine.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Apart from this, Leh District Administration is contemplating a ban on all types of gatherings till 15th January and surprise  checks at various points where persons with possible symptoms are found.</span><br />
