Leh death toll rises to 173

In Leh, rescuers pulled out more bodies from under the mud and slush raising the death toll in the cloud burst ravaged district to 173.The relief and rescue operations are on in the affected areas.A senior Northern Command officer told PTI that the Police and civil authorities dug out the bodies from the worst-hit Choglamsar belt yesterday. He said the search for the three Junior Commissioned officers (JCO) and 27 other army men of different ranks, washed away in the flash floods in Turtuk belt, is still on.
