Legislative Council election

BSP bags 34 seats of 36 seats of In Uttar Pradesh, the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party has won remaining three seats of Legislative Council where counting of votes took place today. These seats are from Aligarh, Meerut and Bulandsahar. Repolling at five polling booths was held on Wednesday. AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that by winning 34 seats of 36 where polling was held on 7th of this month, the Bahujan Samaj Party has got majority in the Upper House of State Legislature. Only two seats of Pratapgarh and Rai Bareily has gone in favour of Samajwadi Party and Congress respectively. In this election, BJP was not able to open his account and main opposition Samajwadi Party has suffered great loss who has lost its most stronghold.
