Legendary Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar bids adieu to the sport, with Team India clean sweeping series against West Indies

Legendary Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar today got a memorable farewell gift, as Team India defeated the West Indies by an innings and 126 runs, at the master blaster's home ground, Wankhede Stadium, to complete a brilliant 2-0 clean sweep, in one of the most lopsided contests in recent history. There was an outpouring of emotions when the moment arrived as a teary-eyed Tendulkar left the playing arena, which he dominated for 24-long years. Amid standing ovations from his teammates as well as the fans who had thronged the stadium to see the champion for one last time, Tendulkar walked into the sunset of his glittering career.

On the third day of the second test today, Indian spinners, led by Pragyan Ojha, wreaked havoc, as the visitors were bundled out for 187 in the second innings. Ojha bagged a brilliant 10-wicket match haul, again claiming 5 in the second innings. He was adjudged Man of the Match. R. Ashwin also did the damage by scalping 4 wickets. It was Mohammed Shami, who brought an end with a typical inswinging delivery that brought curtains down on Tendulkar's wonderful career.

Earlier, the Windies resumed the day at the overnight score of 43 for 3.
Yesterday, Tendulkar had enthralled the audience with a majestic 74, which comprised of technique, class and everything that Sachin is known for.

Team India had made 495 in the first innings, replying to West Indies' score of 182. Cheteshwar Pujara top scored with 113, while in-form Rohit Sharma scored his second successive century, making an unbeaten 111. Rohit was named man of the series.

India had won the first test at Kolkata by an innings and 51 runs.
India and West Indies will now play 3 one day international matches, beginning 21st of this month from Kochi.
