Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has reiterated that legal proceedings against the Italian Marines accused of murdering Indian fishermen will be as per Indian law. He informed this to the Deputy Foreign Minister of Italy Staffan de Mistura who called on him today .
Kerala Chief Minister has conveyed his displeasure to the Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Staffan de Mistura about media reports that Indian properties are being targeted in Italy due to the imprisonment of the naval peronnel.
The Chief Minister ruled out a joint investigation. He said that top police officials can take a decision based on prison rules about shifting Italian marines from the Central jail to some other place.
Italian minister clarified that in a country of 60 million people only a few hundreds are engaged in a protest against imprisonment of marines.
