Left Wing Extremist violence reduced considerably in country the last 12 years, Govt informs in Rajya Sabha

<span style="color: #222222;">The incidents of Left Wing Extremism violence have witnessed significant reduction of 77 percent in the last 12 years. A total of two thousand 258 incidents of LWE violence were reported in the country in 2009, which has reduced to 509 in 2021.<br />'' <br />'' In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai said, the deaths of Civilians and Security Forces due to LWE violence have also reduced by 85 percent from an all-time high of one thousand five in 2010 to 147 in 2021.<br />'' <br />'' He said, the geographical spread of LWE violence has come down and only 46 districts are affected by it in 2021 as compared to 96 in 2010.<br />'' <br />'' The Minister said, the government has taken several measures to check the LWE violence. He added, special trust has been given on expansion of the road network, improving tele-communication connectivity, skill development, financial inclusion in the LWE affected areas.</span>
