Left Wing Extremism top priority for intervention, says Rajnath Singh

The Centre today said that it will pump all resources to eradicate the menace of Left Wing Extremism from the country.

Addressing the Consultative Committee meeting of his Ministry in New Delhi today, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that the menace remains top priority for interventions by the government. Mr Singh stated that Left Wing Extremism is still poses the biggest threat to internal security and nation building process. He said, the security establishment is encouraged since the Left Wing Extremism insurgency is on the decline.

The Home Minister mentioned, government has adopted a four-pronged strategy with the affected states to tackle the Maoist threat. Mr Singh informed, over hundred battalions of Central Armed Police Forces and 10 Cobra battalions have been deployed for anti-Left Wing Extremism operations.
