Left Parties, RJD, JD (U) and NCP today approached President Pranab Mukherjee over JNU row. A delegation of these parties leaders met Mr. Mukherjee at Rashtrapathi Bhawan and sought his intervention. <br/><br/>Talking to reporters after the meeting, CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury said as the custodian of the constitution, President should not permit government to unleash an insurrection in country against the Constitution. <br/><br/>The meeting came in the wake of alleged attack by some lawyers on JNU Student Union President at the Patiala House Court premises ahead of hearing on sedition case. They had also assaulted journalists, students and teachers.
