The Left parties today said that they are not in favour of boycotting Home Minister P Chidambaram in Parliament. Talking to reporters outside Parliament, CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury said that they do not want to target any particular individual. He added that they will pressurise the government to take effective steps against corruption. CPI leader Gurudas Das Gupta said that they do not support the proposal of boycott as they want to have discussion over the issue in Parliament.
BJP on the other hand maintained that there is enough evidence of Chidambaram's role in the 2G Spectrum allocation scam. Party spokesman Prakash Javdekar said that they want CBI to investigate Chidambaram's alleged role and pressed for his resignation.
