The Lebanese army today declared that it had launched an offensive against an Islamic State close to the Syrian border in the east of the country. <br/><br/>Army chief General Joseph Aoun said, the army is targeting Islamic State positions near the town of Ras Baalbek with rockets, artillery and helicopters, where jihadists have been operating for several years.
