Leander Paes and Stanislas Wawrinka have made it to the doubles quarterfinals of the Western and Southern Open, the ATP Masters event in the United States. In the second round at Cincinnati, the unseeded Indo-Swiss pair shocked 2014 Wimbledon champions Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock. The pair won in three sets 7-6, 3-6, 10-3 against the Canadian-American team in the over Fortyfour Lakh US Dollar hard court tournament. Paes and Wawrinka will fight it out with either Feliciano Lopez and Max Mirnyi or fourth seeds Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini for a place in the semi-finals. Another Indian in the fray is Rohan Bopanna with Romanian partner Florin Mergea. The fifth seeds had got a bye in the first round and face French pair of Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut in the pre-quarterfinals.
