Leading the global voice of dissent against the US President's decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres today said that the holy city is the final-status issue that must be resolved through direct negotiations.<br/>'<br/>Talking to reporters at the UN headquarters in New York, Mr Guterres said, he has consistently spoken out against any unilateral measures that would jeopardise the prospect of peace for Israelis and Palestinians. <br/><br/>The UN Chief said, he understand the deep attachment that Jerusalem holds in the hearts of so many people but there is no alternative to the two-state solution and there is no Plan B.<br/>'<br/>Mr Guterres said, he will do everything in his power to support the Israeli and Palestinian leaders to return to meaningful negotiations and to realize this vision of a lasting peace for both people.<br/><br/>
