The Rajya Sabha today unanimously condemned the indecent remarks reportedly made by a BJP leader from Uttar Pradesh against BSP Chief Ms. Mayawati. <br/><br/>Leaders belonging to all political parties condemned the abusive language and demanded stern action against the accused. Deputy Chairman P J Kurien observed that the House is one in condemning the indecent statement. <br/><br/>Satish Chandra Mishra of the BSP demanded registration of a case under SC and ST Act and arrest of the accused . <br/><br/>Raising the issue Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad said the remark against Ms Mayawati is an insult to the entire womanhood. Leader of the House and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley expressed personal regret over the issue. He condemned the derogatory statement.<br/><br/>Later, when the House resumed discussion on consideration and passing of the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Bill, 2016, Congress members trooped into the well shouting slogans against the government over attacks on dalits in Gujarat. <br/><br/>They remained in the well despite repeated appeals by the Chair to go back to their seats and let the House function. Prof. Kurien adjourned the House for the day after his appeals for order went unheeded. <br/><br/>Earlier, he had told the agitating members that that Business Advisory Committee had decided to hold a discussion on Gujarat incident tomorrow. During the day, the House witnessed repeated adjournments over the issue and could not take up the listed business.
