Leaders across political spectrum expressed grief over demise of the veteran Congress leader and former Union Minister N. K. P Salve. Sending his heartfelt condolence to the members of the bereaved family, the Vice President M. Hamid Ansari said, he prays to the Almighty to grant them the strength and fortitude to withstand this loss.
In a condolence message, the Governor of Maharashtra K Sankaranarayanan said that N K P Salve contributed to the development of the State, particularly of the Vidarbha region. Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan in his condolence message said that Salve was a multi-dimensional personality. Mr.Chavan said that Salve was a true loyalist and extremely studious leader. The CM added that Salve’s extensive political work will always remain inspirational.
Mumbai Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Manikrao Thackarey also expressed a sense of loss at the death of Salve. He said that Mr. Salve always stood by the underprivileged, the downtrodden and the deserving, and fought for them.
Narendra Kumar Salve, better known as NKP Salve, passed away at a private hospital in Delhi due to age-related illness early Sunday morning. He was 90.
