Political parties have strongly condemned the terror attack at Dinanagar Police station in Punjab's border district of Gurdaspur. The Congress has said there seems to be an intelligence failure. Talking to reporters outside parliament, senior party leader Anand Sharma alleged that anti-India forces are involved in the attack. Mr Sharma said there have been a series of ceasefire violations in Jammu and Kashmir and it appears that Pakistan is constantly supporting the terrorist activities against India. He said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi should clearly tell his Pakistani counterpart that cross-border terrorism and talks cannot take go together. He also urged the Central government to deal firmly with the attack in Punjab.<br/> <br/>Condemning the attack, Samajwadi party leader Ramgopal Yadav said, the Prime Minister must send out a stern message to Islamabad that terror against India will not be tolerated.<br/>On a query, Mr Yadav said, today's attack should not be linked with attempts of revival of insurgency in Punjab.<br/> <br/>CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury asked the government to give all the facts about the attack. BSP chief Ms Mayawati said, the government should tighten its vigilance alongside the border in view of the attack.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, ruling Akali Dal leader Naresh Gujral said, the Punjab government and the forces are firmly dealing with the terror attack. Mr Gujral told reporters that every terror attempt by Pakistan will be crushed and the state will not leave any stone unturned to deal with teh situation.<br/>Replying to a query, Mr Gujral said, there is no failure on the part of the state administration to deal with insurgents. He said, Pakistan's hand in today's attack and attempts to revive insurgency in the state cannot be ruled out.
