Delhi police have arrested a self styled commander-in-chief of a Manipur based banned terrorist outfit from the national capital. His arrest also led to the rescue of two officials of a construction project abducted by his cadres in Manipur for a ransom of 2 crore rupees.
Briefing reporters in New Delhi, Special Commissioner of Police S N Srivastava said the accused Ningthoujam Romen Singh alias Rocky who was the Finance Secretary of Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP-MC), a faction of the banned terrorist organisation KCP, was apprehended by the Special Cell on Thursday. He was based in Agra since May-june this year and coordinated extortion and other crimes in Manipur.
He had jumped bail in an earlier case and fled to Nepal before returning to Goa. He said, the accused was involved in 18 of heinous crimes of murders, kidnapping, abduction and extortion.
