LDF walks out over co-operatives ordinance

In Kerala, the LDF opposition walked out of the assembly today protesting against what they called the move of the UDF regime to destroy the co-operative sector banks of the state. Seeking permission for an adjournment motion, opposition member E P Jayarajan said, introduction of administrator rule in co-operative banks through a recent ordinance is politically motivated.

Co-operation Minister C N Balakrishnan said that the government is only rectifying the steps taken by the previous government. Not satisfied by the reply, the LDF led by Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan walked out in protest.
