In Kerala, the LDF opposition walked out of the state assembly today protesting against escalating prices of essential items and life saving drugs.Seeking permission for an adjournment motion CPI member V S Sunil Kumar alleged that prices of food items are soaring like never before. Countering the opposition allegations Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that except marginal increase in the price of some items, over all price level of essential items has stabilised.At the same time, he assured the house that drug prices will be controlled and state medical services corporation will be strengthened for the same.Opposition deputy leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan blamed the financial policy of the Centre for over all hike in price. Even if the Chief Minister highlighted efforts to contain price rise, the opposition was dissatisfied and staged a walk out in protest.
