In Kerala, opposition LDF has made serious allegations against Oommen Chandy government for not solving Mullapperiyar dam issue with Tamil Nadu.In a meeting held on Monday in Thiruvananthapuram, the Front analysed the present stand of the UDF government on the dam issue.Addressing the media, LDF Convenor Vaikkom Viswan alleged there was a nexus between Congress High Command and the state government in Mullapperiyar dam issue.Meanwhile, Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that he will discuss the dam issue with Water Resources Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal in Jaipur on Tuesday.Mr. Chandy is in the pink city in connection with the tenth Pravasi Bharatheeya Sammelan.On the direction of the empowered committee of the Supreme Court drilling process to procure surkhi sample from Mullapperiyar dam is continuing to ascertain its safety.At the same time, the water level of the 116 year old structure has come down to almost 120 feet since Tamil Nadu is drawing more water.Passenger and goods traffic stand totally restored at Kerala-Tamil Nadu border in Idukki.
