LCA (Navy) NP1 to roll out on July 6

The first Naval version of Light Combat Aircraft named as LCA (Navy) NP1 will roll out from HAL ARDC design hangar on July sixth. The Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Nirmal Verma will launch the aircraft that is designed and developed indigenously.<br/><br/>Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) handout says that it will be a significant milestone when the aircraft is ready to undergo the phase of systems integration tests leading to Ground runs, taxi trials and flight. The LCA (Navy) is specifically designed for ski jump take off and Arrested landing, with high landing loads. <br/><br/>When operationalised, this will be a suitable replacement to the aging fleet of Sea Harriers used at present by the Indian Navy. LCA (Navy) is the only carrier borne aircraft in the light category, and there are no similar aircraft worldwide. <br/><br/>The LCA Navy will be operating with a vide variety of operational role equipments like the BVR missile, Anti shipping Missiles, Conventional bombs, Air Defence guns, CCM’s and drop tanks. <br/><br/>The hand out says that the Indian Navy, CEMILAC and DGAQA have played an important role right from its inception supporting the programme. LCA Navy has also been nurtured by various agencies and organisations including DRDO, CSIR and PSUs, Universities and Private Sector participants. The ten prototypes of the Air Force version of the LCA have completed about 1400 flights so far.
