Mr Laxmikant Parsekar has been sworn in as New Chief Minister of Goa along with nine other Ministers at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan.
Goa Governor Smt Mridula Sinha administered the oath of the office and secrecy to the new Chief Minister and other nine cabinet ministers Saturday evening .
The other Ministers include eight from BJP and two from BJPs alliance partner Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP).
Former Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’ Souza is also inducted in the new ministry.
The 58 year old leader Mr Laxmikant Parsekar is a postgraduate in Science.
He had elected for three consecutive terms form Mandrem constituency in North Goa.
In Manohar Parrikar Government he was holding a portfolios of Health, Panchayat and Rural development.
Mr Laxmikant Parsekar was also work as a State BJP President for two times.
Mr Laxmikant Parsekar name was unanimously selected by the BJP legislative for the post of Chief Minister.
BJP General Secretary and Central observer Rajiv Pratap Rudy announced the name of next Chief Minister in the presence of Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yedurappa and Goa desk in charge Mr Purshottam Rupala.
Earlier on Saturday afternoon, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who is set to become the Union Minister, tendered his resignation from the post.
Mr Parrikar faxed his resignation to State Governor Mridula Sinha at Raj Bhavan in the afternoon.
