Laxmanan of the Indian Army won the Gold in the Men's 10 kilometre race in the 19th Federation Cup National Senior Athletic championships at Mangaluru, Karnataka, today. In the women's category, the coveted medal in the same race was clinched by Tamil Nadu's L Surya. For both the athletes, this is the second gold of the championship as they had come first in the 5000 metre race also. On the fourth and final day of the championships today, Laxmanan covered the distance in the 10,000 metres race in 29 minutes, 49.91 seconds. He was followed by his army colleagues Gopi T for the Silver and Kheta Ram for the Bronze. In the women's category, L Surya clinched the gold with a time of 34 minutes and 42 seconds. Sanjeevini Baburao Jadhav won the Silver, while Swati Haribhau Gadhave claimed the bronze.
