Law on whistleblowers likely in Budget Session

The Government is likely to introduce a Bill in the Budget Session of Parliament to protect whistleblowers. The Minister of State for Personnel and Public Grievances, Prithviraj Chavan said in New Delhi that an empowered group of ministers has been set up to finalise the proposed Bill.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that incidents like the killing of project director of the National Highway Authority of India, Satyendra Dubey–after he pointed out corruption in a road construction project–has necessitated protection of whistle blowers.
