Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today hailed the Supreme Court judgment on Right to Privacy as a landmark verdict. <br/><br/>Addressing media in New Delhi this afternoon, the Minister said UPA brought AADHAAR without any legislative sanction whereas NDA government backed it with a comprehensive legislation. <br/><br/>He said Right to Privacy is part of Right to Liberty and no right is absolute as it is subject to reasonable restrictions. The Law Minister said government had acknowledged that Right To Privacy is fundamental right much before the creation of the nine-judge Supreme Court bench. <br/><br/>Mr Prasad said AADHAAR data is fully protected and any one who uses the data for any purpose other than for what it is meant for will be punished.<br/><br/>Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today said Supreme Court verdict is a positive development. Briefing media in New Delhi this evening, Mr Jaitley said there is always an effort to strengthen fundamental rights as evolution of constitutional law goes on. He said government always had a clear stand on privacy.
