Latvia PM Kucinskis holds talk with PM Modi

Visiting Prime Minister of Latvia Maris Kucinskis held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House in New Delhi today and discussed a wide range of bilateral issues. <br/><br/>The visiting dignitary also called on President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan. <br/><br/>During the meeting, Mr. Kovind appreciated Latvia's participation in the World Food India 2017 event and said Latvia has acquired strengths in the agro-food processing sector and the participation of Latvian companies at World Food India will benefit both sides. <br/><br/>He said India has introduced programmes like Make in India, Smart Cities, Digital India and Clean India which present opportunities for Latvian companies. <br/><br/>The President said Latvia can also gain from the strengths of Indian industry, particularly in the IT and pharma sectors. <br/><br/>Later in the night, Mr Kucinskis will depart for Mumbai where he will have series of scheduled meetings including with the Governor of Maharashtra.<br/><br/>Our correspondent reports that there is promising potential for promoting Ayurveda and Yoga in Latvia and both seen as ways to improve holistic healthcare. <br/><br/>University of Latvia, in collaboration with the Arya Vaidya Pharmacy, Coimbatore has been conducting a 3-month Diploma course in Introduction to Ayurveda since February 2015. <br/><br/>The students are mainly qualified allopathic medical doctors and the University also wants to offer higher level courses.
