Centre will send a fact finding team to asses the depleting ground water situation in drought hit Latur in Maharashtra. <br/><br/>Talking to reporters in New Delhi on Saturday, Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti said a team of Central Water Commission will visit the area to find ways to overcome this problem.<br/><br/>She said the team will also see how such ground water problem can be prevented in other parts of the country.<br/><br/>The ground water level in Latur area has dipped at an alarming level. <br/><br/>Railways has also decided to transport water to the area in the summer and the public transporter is keeping two goods trains ready for the purpose.<br/><br/>Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has directed the concerned officials to make necessary arrangements in this direction.<br/><br/>Uma Bharti also said ground water level has significantly improved in some states like Telangana and Gujarat which had earlier faced low level. <br/><br/>Ms. Bharti, however, expressed concern over depleting ground water level in Haryana and Punjab.<br/><br/>She said the government has increased budgetary support for irrigation and water conservation in the country and his ministry is taking several steps for better water management.
