The first result of the assembly poll has come from Manipur. Congress candidate from Tipaimukh Assembly constituency Dr. Chaltonlien Amo has won the election. He defeated his nearest rival Dr. Larlukhum Fimate of AITC. He got 4525 votes against Dr. Fimate's 3,639. The Congress is leading in nine constituencies, AITC 4, CPI 2, MPP 2, MSCP 2, NPF one and others 4.
Overall trends from other states show that Samajwadi Party has taken a lead in 136 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh followed by BSP 80, BJP 45 and Congress- 35.
In Punjab, SAD leading in 37, BJP-9, and Congress-22.
In Uttrahand, Congress is leading in 26, BJP-24, BSP-6 UKD and others one each.
