The last rites of the veteran actor Shashi Kapoor will be performed at Santacruz in Mumbai in a short while from now. Shashi Kapoor passed away yesterday the age of 79. He breathed his last at Kokilaben Hospital where he was admitted since last few days for age related ailments.<br/><br/> The youngest of Prithviraj Kapoor's three sons, Shashi Kapoor appeared in over 175 films including some international projects. Shashi Kapoor began his career a child artist in Raj Kapoor's films 'Aag' and 'Awara'. He later made his debut as leading man in Yash Chopra's Dharmaputra in 1961. Some of his most famous movies include Waqt, Jab Jab Phool Khile, Kanyadaan, Sharmilee, Chor Machaye Shor, Roti Kapda aur Makaan, Kabhie Kabhie, Namak Halal, Kaala Pathar, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Faqira and the 1975 cult movie Deewar. He also worked in some offbeat films like 'Chaar Diwari' and 'Prem Patra'.<br/><br/> Shashi Kapoor was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2015 and the Padma Bhushan in 2011. He is survived by three children, Kunal Kapoor, Sanjana Kapoor and Karan Kapoor.
