The last rites of Former Union Minister Purushottam Lal Kaushik will be performed today with state honours in his home town Mahasamund, Chhattisgarh. <br/><br/>The former minister died after a prolonged illness yesterday. He was 87. He was the Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation in the Morarji Desai Ministry and later Minister for Information and Broadcasting in the Charan Singh Ministry. He was elected to the Lok Sabha twice, first from Raipur in 1977 and from Durg in 1989. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh has expressed his deep condolence over the death of the veteran leader.
