In Goa, the last date of withdrawal of nominations for the assembly polls slated on March 3,ended on Thursday. In all 40 candidates withdrew their nominations in last two days.A total of 215 candidates have remained in the frey now.As per the figures given by the election authorities in Panaji highest number of 11 candidates are in the frey in Vasco da Gama Assembly constituency followed by 10 in Saligao,9 in Pernem and 8 each in Fatorda, Cuncolim and Santa Cruz constituency.Four constituencies namely Curchorem Marcaim,Poriem and Sanquelim have two each candidates in the frey.Out of 215 candidates who have remained in the frey only nine are women. Out of total of 215 candidates in the frey 33 are of Indian National Congress,28 of Bharatiya Janata party 7 each of Nationalist Congress Party and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and 74 independents.The state is going for polls on March 6.
