Today is the last day for the withdrawal of nominations for the first phase of Lok Sabha polls in Assam, Tripura and Bihar. While, five Constituencies of Assam in this phase and one in Tripura will go to the polls on the 7th of next month, in Bihar polling for six seats in the first phase will be held on the 10th of next month.
Scrutiny of nominations for 92 Lok Sabha seats spread over 15 States and three Union Territories will take place today. The constituencies are all ten in Haryana, all twenty in Kerala and all the seven seats in Delhi.
Other constituencies where the scrutiny of nominations is to take place today are ten each in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha, nine in Madhya Pradesh, four in Jharkhand, two each in Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya and one each in Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir and the Union Territories of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh and Lakshadweep.
The last date of withdrawal of nominations in these constituencies is the 26th of this month. Polling in Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Nagaland will be held on the 9th of next month and in all other States and Union Territories on the 10th of next month in the first phase of polling for Lok Sabha elections in these States.
Scruitiny of nominations will also take place today for the 60 member Arunachal Assembly and 70 Assembly seats in Odisha alongwith the first phase of Lok Sabha polls in these states.
