The government has extended the last date for filing of income tax returns up to October 14 from September 30 in cases of income tax assessees in the state of Gujarat.An official statement said, on consideration of reports of dislocation of general life caused due to recent heavy rains and floods in Gujarat, the CBDT has extended the due-date for filing Returns of Income from September 30 to October 14.Heavy rains since September 23 had claimed the lives of at least six people in Gujarat.
