US has said that Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, LeT, which has been designated as a terrorist organisation by the UN, is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of innocent lives, including American citizens.<br/><br/> State Department Deputy Spokesman Mark Toner said in Washington that Hafeez Saeed is listed by the UN Security Council Sanctions Committee for targeted sanctions due to his affiliation with LeT. He said, both the LeT and Saeed are designated by the US government. <br/><br/>Toner said, LeT is obviously responsible for the death of hundreds of innocent civilians in terrorist attacks, including a number of American citizens.<br/><br/>Yesterday, US has asked Pakistan to shut down access to areas inside their borders to terrorists. In a press briefing, State Department Spokesperson John Kirby said, Pakistan should take steps to shut down access to areas inside their borders to terrorists, to terrorist individuals and to terrorist groups. <br/><br/>Earlier also, US has asked Pakistan to take action against militancy. State Department during a briefing in August had asked Pakistan Government to target all militant groups including those that target Pakistan's neighbours, and must also close all safe havens.
