On the occasion of Makar Sankraniti festival on Friday, a large number of people are expected to take a holy dip at the sangam in Allahabad. District Magistrate of Allahabad Sanjay Prasad told AIR today that elaborate arrangements have been made for this occasion.AIR correspondent reports, just before the beginning of Magh fair at Allahabad, devotees have been arriving at Sangam for the Makar Sankranti festival on Friday. This year the makar sankranti bathing will be done on two days-14th and 15th January because according to Hindu Panchang, the sun will enter the Capricorn on midnight of 14th January.Stringent security arrangements have been made at the Sangam, with commandos from the anti-terrorist squad and Army being deployed in the area. The whole area has been put under surveillance. According to the administration, more than twenty lakh people are expected to bathe at the sangam in next two days.
