Politicians, film personalities, writers, sports stars and a large number of people converged at the lawns of India Gate in the national capital this evening to express their solidarity against the terror which looms large on the Asian continent threatening its peace and stability. It was on this day last year that the terrorist’s siege in Mumbai ended. AIR correspondent reports that Union Home Minister Mr. P Chidambaram, Information and Broadcasting Minister Mrs. Ambika Soni, Delhi Chief Minister Mrs. Sheila Dikshit, Film personalities Shah Rukh Khan, Nandita Das and Javed Akhter, playback singer Shreya Ghoshal, Sports Stars Sania Mirza and Abhinav Bindra were among the prominent personalities present to send a strong message across the world that India is united against its fight against terrorism transcending all regional, language and religious barriers. The highlight of the hour-long show was music recitals by prominent artistes and school children including Gandhi Bhajans inculcating a spirit of patriotism among the fellow countrymen. Javed Akhtar recited his poem paying tributes to the victims of terror.
