Military officials in southern Philippines say they have uncovered a large cache of weapons and ammunition. The discovery of hidden automatic rifles, machine guns and crates of ammunition bearing markings of the Philippines national Defence forces was made on the property of powerful Ampatuan clan which has ruled the province of Maguindanao for most of the past decade. Several members of Ampatuan family have been detained and one formally charged in connection with the political massacre of 57 people last month. The latest find comes a day after the Phillipines government declared Martial Law and suspended civil rights in Maguindanao province citing fears that supporters of the Ampatuan family might be plotting a rebellion.<br/>
