The much awaited Presidential Election in Sri Lanka will be held on January 26, next year. This was announced by the Commissioner of Elections, Dayananda Dissanayake in Colombo.<br/><br/>Nominations for elections will be accepted from the 17th of next month. This will be the first Presidential election in the post Prabhakaran era.<br/>
