Sri Lankan navy today captured 37 Indian fishermen and 5 boats off Pulmoddai. They have been detained at the Navy camp in Trincomalee for further questioning.
Speaking to All India Radio, Navy Spokesperson Commander Kosala said that the fishermen would be handed over to Harbor Police for further legal action.
He claimed that the fishing boats had come deep inside Sri Lankan waters when the arrests were made.
On November 22, four Indian fishermen were allegly attacks from Sri Lanka Navy. But the Sri Lankan authorities subsequently denied the charges.
