Lankan Navy arrests three Tamil fishermen

Sri Lankan Navy apprehended three fishermen from Pudukottai district Tamil Nadu when they were fishing near the Delfts island early morning. The Sri Lankan Navy also detained one fishing boat. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalaithaa had raised the fishermen issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi when she met him in New Delhi on Tuesday. <br/><br/>Sri Lankan Navy had earlier arrested 21 fishermen from Rameswaram and Pudukottai. Local fishermen from Tamil Nadu are urging the government to secure the immediate release of 24 fellow fishermen and their 93 fishing boats from Sri Lanka. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, Indian Coast Guard is searching for four fishermen from Nagapattinam missing in Sea. Five fishermen fell into the sea while fishing and one fisherman was rescued. The fisherman has been admitted to Nagai Government hospital for treatment.
