Sri Lankan navy has arrested eight Indian fishermen along with their boat for charges of poaching into Sri Lankan waters. A navy statement said the fishermen were arrested in northeast of Vettalakerni this morning. They have been handed over to fisheries department in Jaffna for further legal action. The arrests come three days after 13 fishermen were taken into custody on Thursday on similar charges. <br/><br/>With the latest arrests, the total number of Indian fishermen in Sri Lankan custody has gone up to 85. Sri Lankan government has been releasing the fishermen on a regular basis on humanitarian grounds but more than 100 fishing boats are still into their custody for past couple of years.
