<span style="color: #222222;">A former Muslim minister in Sri Lanka has asserted that there is a concerted campaign against the Muslim minority community and attempt to create a communal clash in the country.<br />'' <br />'' Talking to reporters in Colombo this morning, Mr. Rishad Bathiudeen said the hate speeches against Muslims are on the rise particularly after the end of Presidential elections last month and he has written to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa regarding it. &nbsp;<br />'' <br />'' He said there is an attempt to create Myanmar like situation in the island nation by creating a public image against the community.<br />'' <br />'' Mr. Bathiudeen lamented that such elements are getting prominent and biased publicity from major media organizations and Muslim voices are failing to get heard.<br />'' <br />'' The former minister said if communal tensions start, there will be no peace, foreign investment and development in the country. He warned that if the situation does not improve, he will approach the Organisation of Islamic countries and the United Nations for intervention.<br />'' <br />'' His statement came as minorities including Muslims overwhelming voted in favour of President Gotabaya's rival at the elections.
