Sri Lankan government and the main Tamil party Tamil National alliance (TNA) on Friday resumed talks with a view to seek an acceptable political solution to the ethnic minority in the country.A joint statement was issued yesterday by the two sides signed by leader of the Government delegation Nimal Siripala and leader of TNA delegation R. Sampanthan. The two sides agreed to continue talks on the basis of the Discussion Paper submitted by the TNA on 18th March 2011 along with earlier proposals, statements, and reports for Constitutional Reforms made public to agree on the principles that should form the basis of a political settlement.
